Michael received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1982. He is admitted and qualified as an attorney and counselor of the Supreme Court of the United States and is further licensed as an attorney and counselor at law in the states of New York (Appellate Division, 2nd Department) and Florida. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, a Chairman of The Blue Card, Inc., and a Vice President of the New York Foundation for Eldercare.

For many years, Michael has been a faculty member at the Jewish Association Serving the Aging (JASA) in New York City. Michael has lectured extensively about elder law, estate planning, and planning for Survivors of the Holocaust and their families.

Barbara received her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law in 1982. She is admitted and qualified as an attorney and counselor of the Supreme Court of the United States and is further licensed as an attorney and counselor at law in the states of New York (Appellate Division, 3rd Department) and New Jersey (U.S. District Court). She is a member of the New York County Lawyers Association and the New Jersey Bar Association.

Barbara has served on the Board of the JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly, NJ, where she chaired the Thurnauer School of Music Senior Adult Advisory Committee and was instrumental in the development of a Holocaust Memorial project consisting of a Sculpture Garden and the Holocaust Education Institute.

Bob received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1993. He is licensed to practice law in the states of New York (Appellate Division, 2nd Department) and New Jersey. Bob has been “Of Counsel” to L&LLP since 1999.

His areas of practice include elder law, estate planning, and Medicaid planning, with particular emphasis on protecting assets for Holocaust Survivors who are the recipients of restitution, as well as establishing Medicaid eligibility for individuals of all backgrounds. 

Bob has been instrumental in the development and implementation of the Victim of Nazi Persecution Restitution Trusts® and Trusts for Inherited Payments to Victims of Nazi Persecution® as a means of sheltering assets and obtaining Medicaid benefits for Holocaust Survivors and their heirs.

Ben received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2004. He is licensed to practice law in the states of New York, New Jersey, and Ohio.

Our Staff

Woody has been working with Lissner & Lissner LLP since February 1997. He holds a Bachelor Degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

He has been a tax professional for more than 15 years. He passed the strenuous 
exams required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to earn the title of Enrolled Agent and is licensed to represent taxpayers before the IRS in tax audits, reduction of penalties and other negotiations.

Woody is fluent in French and Creole. His areas of expertise include Personal, 
Business, Not-for-profit, Fiduciary and Estate Taxes, and Estate and Trust Administration.

Elzbieta has been working with Lissner & Lissner LLP since November 2005. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Business Administration from Viadrina University in Frankfurt, Germany, as well as a Professional Certificate in German to English Translation from New York University.

She is fluent in Polish and German. Her areas of expertise include Restitution matters, Medicaid and Estate Planning.

Nana has been working with Lissner & Lissner LLP since August 2003. She holds a Master’s Degree in Interpreting and Translation for German, English and French from the School of Applied Linguistics and Cultural Studies of the Johannes-Gutenberg University Mainz.

Before joining Lissner & Lissner LLP, she spent several years in Germany translating for Citigroup, Sundance Company, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Fashion Week etc. She is fluent in German and French. Her areas of expertise include Restitution Claims and Pensions, Estate Administration and Probate.

Jennifer has been working with Lissner & Lissner LLP since February 2002. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Accounting and a Paralegal Certificate from Hunter College.

Before joining Lissner & Lissner LLP, she spent 15 years at the Nassau County Department of Social Services as an Accounting Assistant. Her area of expertise includes Real Estate Transactions.

Garth has been working with Lissner & Lissner LLP since November of 2016. He holds an Associate’s Degree from Borough of Manhattan Community College.

Before joining Lissner & Lissner LLP, he spent over a decade providing professional support services to CPA’s, Attorneys and Certified Financial Planners. His areas of expertise include Personal, Business, Payroll, Sales and Estate Taxes and Estate Administration and Probate.

Mila has been working with Lissner & Lissner LLP since August 2000. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Queens College.

She has been a tax professional and a bookkeeper for more than 20 years. Mila is fluent in Russian. Her areas of expertise include Personal, Business, Not-for-profit, Fiduciary and Estate Taxes, Bookkeeping, and Payroll.
